Raiders host West Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament

Pierce College will serve as host to the NWAACC’s October round of the West Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament.  Play begins on Friday, October 12, and runs through Saturday.  The tournament field features 12 teams from across the four regions of the NWAACC, and will begin with a full day of pool play on Friday, followed by a dual bracket tournament format final day on Saturday.

Pool A features; Everett (North), Linn-Benton (South), Pierce (West & host school), and Treasure Valley (East).  Pool B is made up of; Clackamas (S), Clark (W), Olympic (N), and Yakima Valley (E).  Pool C has; Centralia (W), Columbia Basin (E), Skagit Valley (N), and the Alumni All-Stars, a team made up of former players from Pierce and Tacoma Community College.

Play on Friday tips off at 11:00 a.m., in best 2 of 3 pool play.  The rest of the schedule for Friday has matches scheduled to start at 12:30, 2:00, 3:30, 5:00, and 6:30 p.m.

11:00 a.m match-ups:  Everett vs Pierce, Olympic vs Clark, Skagit Valley vs Alumni All-Stars

12:30 p.m. match-ups:  Everett vs Linn-Benton, Olympic vs Clackamas, Skagit Valley vs Centralia

2:00 p.m. match-ups:  Treasure Valley vs Pierce, Yakima Valley vs Clark, Columbia Basin vs Alumni All-Stars

3:30 p.m. match-ups:  Linn-Benton vs Treasure Valley, Clackamas vs Yakima Valley, Centralia vs Columbia Basin

5:00 p.m. match-ups:  Linn-Benton vs Pierce, Clackamas vs Clark, Centralia vs Alumni All-Stars

6:30 p.m. match-ups:  Treasure Valley vs Everett, Yakima Valley vs Olympic, Columbia Basin vs Skagit Valley

Seeding for Saturday’s bracketed tournament format will be determined by the outcome of Friday’s matches.  For results of Friday’s pool play matches, and the schedule for Saturdays bracket play, go to – www.nwaacc.org

Admission for the West Region Crossover:  2-day tournament pass – $10, Daily prices; Adults – $6, Seniors/Military/Students with ID – $3, kids under 12 are FREE
