Improving Your Online Course (IYOC)

What is this workshop about?

  • The “Improving Your Online Course” workshop explores the Quality Matters Rubric and provides a framework to improve the quality of online and blended courses.  Participants use the QM Rubric to review their own course(s) and develop a course improvement plan.
  • The content is based on the 21 Essential Specific Review Standards of the Quality Matters Rubric.

Here’s what one of our faculty colleagues had to say about his experience in the IYOC course:

“I am taking the IYOC course right now, and it is very good. If you want to work to find all the things that can help students navigate and succeed in your online course, and ensure that three point items in the QM rubric are covered, this is a good way to do so. Highly recommended.”  Sean Moran – Assistant Professor, Information Systems.

Please note: This course is designed to help you improve an existing online or blended course, and is not for building a course from scratch. Participants come away with a plan for course improvement, so enrolling in the workshop with a pre-developed online or blended course is required.

Applying the Quality Matters Rubric

What is this workshop about?

  • In this course you’ll experience the process of applying the QM rubric to a real course.
  • The APPQMR is the prerequisite for the Peer Reviewer Course, which is the required course to become a QM Peer Reviewer.
