GAAD = Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 18, 2017

The idea of a Global Accessibility Awareness Day started with a single blog post written by a Los Angeles-based web developer, .

, an accessibility professional from Toronto discovered Joe’s blog post purely by accident.

After reading it, Jennison immediately contacted Joe and they joined forces, leveraging their extensive and respective networks to realize the event. For more of the backstory of this day, watch this interview of GAAD co-founder, Jennison Asuncion, by Dr. Jonathan Hassell.

Starting in 2015, rather than using a fixed date, GAAD is now celebrated on the third Thursday of May.

You can celebrate GAAD – Global Accessibility Awareness Day – today by attending the  IGNIS webinar, Tips for Making Online Learning Accessible,  that SBCTC is hosting  from 2pm -3:00pm Enjoy this webinar from the comfort of your work office or home office or view the recording next week.
