Veterinary Oncology Center in Renton is seeking to expand its team with one veterinary technician or experienced assistant – part time or full time.

Part time position: from 1:00pm to closing (usually around 6-7), Mondays through Thursdays.
Full time position: from 9am to closing (usually around 6-7pm), Mondays through Thursdays. Mandatory lunch break – one hour (yeah, we believe that people need to eat lunch and make time for it!).

No weekends and no on-call duties. You will be working with one doctor only (Dr. Luminita Sarbu, a specialist in the field of veterinary oncology).

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) admitting patients for daily evaluations and chemotherapy treatments, restraining patients for procedures and chemotherapy, taking radiographs, blood drawing, processing laboratory samples, releasing patients and explaining discharge instructions and medications, advising clients on management of side effects (under the supervision of Dr. Sarbu), preparing and administering chemotherapy, rarely anesthesia.

We will accept applicants that fulfill one of the following criteria:
* licensed technician
* eligible for technician certification in the next 4 months
* experienced assistant that has functioned as a technician in previous jobs

Multiple doctor Veterinary Hospital in Bellingham, WA is currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  This position can be either a part or full time position for the right candidate.

This role requires that the applicant be a Licensed Technician (LVT) who has an outstanding ability to pay attention to details in a fast paced work environment as well as someone that knows how participate as a team player, not a sole contributor.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Exceptional animal care including; isolation room protocol and incubator use and care, monitoring and administering doctors prescribed treatments, accurate detailed record keeping, etc.
  • Hospital Maintenance: Knowledge of cleaning and sterilizing surgical packs, instruments and syringes. Ensuring all equipment in treatment area is maintained, cleaned and in proper running order, etc.
  • Documentation; accurate record keeping and maintaining- neatness does count! Client education on medication, treatment and/or product usage, preparing procedure estimates, recording charges, call backs to clients on updates, and other duties as assigned.

This position also requires that the LVT be familiar with radiology, surgery/anesthesia protocol, dentals, lab work, assisting doctors, preparing medications, IV catheter protocol, diagnostic work, etc.

Position Overview: The veterinary technician is the veterinarian’s primary medical support. They begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases. They aid the veterinarians in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail. They have a very significant role in communicating with and educating clients about their pets.


Education and Experience:

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in the State of Washington or equivalent license
  • Minimum two years of experience preferred but will train the right candidate
  • Proficient in record keeping, restraints, client education, administering injections and/or anesthesia
  • Possesses an understanding of common medications, dosages, usages and common side effects
  • Can assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures; prepare patients for surgery, and be able to successfully monitor from the beginning of procedure to recovery
  • Can properly care for all surgical materials
  • Can perform clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal exams, heartworm checks, skin scrapings, urinalysis, cystocentesis, and phlebotomy
  • Can discharge patients based on veterinarian’s orders, and be comfortable and confident going over all take home instructions with client
  • Other tasks as assigned by the veterinarian or medical team
