Veterinary Oncology Center in Renton is seeking to expand its team with two veterinary technicians – a full time one and a part time one.

The full time position (34-36hours) is Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30am to closing (usually around 6-7pm). Mandatory lunch break – one hour (yeah, we believe that people need to eat lunch and make time for it!).

The part time position is from 1:30pm to closing, Mondays through Thursdays.

No weekends and no on-call duties. You will be working with one doctor only (Dr. Luminita Sarbu, a specialist in the field of veterinary oncology). 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to) admitting patients for daily evaluations and chemotherapy treatments, restraining patients for procedures and chemotherapy, taking radiographs, blood drawing, processing laboratory samples, releasing patients and explaining discharge instructions and medications, advising clients on management of side effects (under the supervision of Dr. Sarbu), preparing and administering chemotherapy.

We will accept applicants that fulfill one of the following criteria:

* licensed technician

* eligible for technician certification in the next 4 months

* experienced assistant that has functioned as a technician in previous jobs

* NO ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Belltowne Veterinary Center is a well established small animal practice in Belfair, WA. We are an AAHA hospital. Our practice offers integrative medicine modalities for total patient care and comfort. We are also open 7 days a week for our client convenience.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! The responsibilities of an LVT vary considerably. In general they are assigned to a specific section (Surgery or Treatment), and assist the doctor(s) in that corresponding section. Responsibilities for the day may vary depending on the role the LVT is filling for the day.

Responsibilities in general (and depending on which role they are filling) include knowing the appointment schedule for all doctors, assisting the Assistants with treatments, ensuring that the lab downloads get done (typically performed by reception), ensuring that the work list and follow up calls get done, ensuring that the prescriptions get filled. The lead Tx LVT will have a lot of help with these duties, a lot of it will be delegated, but the lead Tx LVT is responsible to making sure it does not get overlooked. The lead Tx LVT is also responsible for determining, with the help of the on duty doctors, if an emergency can be seen, and assign patients to be admitted. In addition the lead Tx LVT determines the lunch tumble. In general the lead Tx LVT is the “go to” person to find out what is going on and can direct/ answer questions. They will, in general know what each doctors work load is and can best determine the best use of personnel.

LVT’s must build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members. Must have their State and Federal License maintained. 10 CE credits must be earned each year. Must also receive training for CPR (to be administered from Belltowne Vet) once yearly.

Who we are:

We are a 501c3 Non profit organization operating out of Lynnwood and servicing the greater Puget Sound area. We offer free high quality high volume spay and neuter surgery as well as free rabies vaccination to all un-owned/community cats. We also offer very reduced cost spay neuter to privately owned cats in an attempt to decrease the growth of the stray cat population. We operate Sunday through Wednesday and perform surgeries on 50 cats a day. Since our inception in 1997 we have spayed and neutered over 100,000 cats!

Our mission:

It is our mission to save the lives of homeless cats by providing access to high volume spay/neuter surgery in a safe and humane environment, collaborating with others and mentoring like-minded organizations to increase spay/neuter in their regions

What we’re looking for:

Would you like to be a part of our amazing and compassionate team? We are in need of a veterinary technician. This position requires a WA state LVT license and excellent cat handling skills are a huge plus. Our tech is responsible for participating in all aspects of the clinic primarily including administering IM anesthesia, pain medication, bladder expression, examining cats for common community cat ailments, generally preparing cats safely for surgery, as well as patient check out. This position functions as a part of the clinic team, so will be responsible for learning and covering other aspects of the clinic as needed.

The ideal candidate would be compassionate, detail oriented, adept at feline handling, and would have an interest in advancing animal welfare

Details:  The position is 32 hours a week and generally runs Sunday through Wednesday.

Pay is commensurate with experience and starting wage will range from $16-18/hr plus a medical stipend of $300/month.

We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated individual who values exceptional client service in addition to outstanding patient care. You should possess strong communication and teamwork skills and be able to multi-task with consistent attention to detail.
