Candidates will be well versed in Anesthesia, Surgery, and perform routine dental prophylactic procedures as directed by an Associate Veterinarian. 

This position requires some Saturday shifts. Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service–while supporting a positive team work environment.

Seattle Veterinary Associates, a doctor-owned, multi hospital, AAHA accredited practice, has an opening for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician at Ravenna Animal Hospital. This full time position is 38-40 hours per week, Saturdays are included. Our Pay for skills program has an hourly compensation range beginning at $16.25 per hour. As you master your skills, the wage will increase to a maximum of $24.05 per hour.

Applicants should be competent in all the generally accepted skills of a Licensed Veterinary Technician:

Work both independently and in conjunction with all other members of the team

Provide compassionate inpatient nursing care, see that patients’ medical and husbandry needs are consistently met

Understand and apply pharmacology and mathematics to ensure patients are dosed accurately Have high facility with restraint of fragile and/or fractious patients

Obtain diagnostic radiographic studies Perform dental prophylaxis, accurately chart dental abnormalities, radiograph and treat dental problems and extract teeth as directed by the DVM Perform basic emergency care, CPR, and intensive care

Measure, administer, and monitor anesthesia accurately and safely throughout the anesthetic event

Act as a sterile or non-sterile assistant to the DVM in surgery and be familiar with surgical equipment and techniques

Set up and assist with procedures that utilize the surgical laser, endoscope, and laparoscope and perform equipment maintenance Facilitate outpatient diagnostic care and treatments

Be proficient with clinical laboratory skills as they pertain to the collection, processing, and analysis of urine, feces, blood, and tissue samples

Efficiently manage the clinic technician appointment schedule

Understand and apply the current vaccine protocols

Technicians are utilized to their maximum potential and leveraged to their maximum skills, therefore a current Washington State license is a prerequisite.

Experience in dentistry is preferred.
