Summit Veterinary Referral Center is a multi-specialty referral center, located in Tacoma, WA. We provide 24-hour emergency and critical care, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, radiology and surgery services.

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our 24-hour emergency/critical care and multi-specialty practice in Tacoma, WA. Job Description

The veterinary technician is the primary support to doctors and patients. The technician must be able to pay attention to detail, respond quickly and calmly to crises, and maintain very high standards of patient care. Excellent technical medical skills are required. The technician must be able to communicate well with clients, showing care and concern for their pets. In addition, the technician must able to organize/delegate the activities on the downstairs treatment room and communicate well with other staff members.

Qualifications

You are the proud owner of a Veterinary Technician License and have some clinical experience in the industry. (New graduates are absolutely considered, so show us your stuff!) You are available several days a week including rotations through weekends and holiday coverage. You understand the importance of quality medicine and love to participate in continuing education so you can stay on top of new ideas and care. You are capable of lifting 50# unaided and can be on the go for a good part of the day. You handle the demands of a busy day with tact and feel comfortable with client interaction. You are, above all, kind to those around you, thoughtful in your decisions and enjoy making someone’s day.

We are seeking to fill a full-time position for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician.  This position is responsible for overseeing all patient anesthetic procedures, associated client communication, detailed record keeping, patient treatments and occasionally sharing the duties of the Lab Technician (outpatient care).

Maple Leaf Pet Corner is in search of a veterinary technician or skilled assistant! We are looking for someone with some prior experience in the veterinary industry who is skilled and ready to learn new things. This busy practice is located just north of downtown Seattle, WA off of Lake City Way.

The duties of this position would include the following: Assisting veterinarians during exams, obtaining medical history, restraining, administering vaccinations and other medications, assisting with x-rays, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, as well as assisting with answering phone calls and client questions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

All Creatures Animal Hospital is a five doctor small animal practice seeking an LVT to join our team. This person must be self-motivated and an enthusiastic team player that is dedicated to delivering the highest quality patient care, client education and customer service. Applicant must be honest, reliable and flexible. Successful candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication, be organized and proactive in anticipating the needs of the hospital. Our technical staff is used to the best of their abilities and encouraged in improving their skills and knowledge through continuing education. The person chosen will go beyond the rote performance of job requirements and become an integral part of our growing clinic.

The hospital days of operation are Monday through Saturday and Saturdays are required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Duties for the Veterinary Technician position include, but are not limited to:

  • Competence in placing IV catheters, phlebotomy, injections, radiographic positioning and technique (including dental radiographs), assessing patient vitals, restraint, dental prophylaxis
  • Experience with in-house laboratory testing, including demonstrable ability in evaluating blood smears and urinalysis
  • Monitoring patients under anesthesia, assisting in surgery
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, adequate computer skills and the ability to educate clients and advocate for necessary care required.
  • Other duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, attending staff meetings just to name a few.

The usual warnings include the requirement to be able to lift up to 40 pounds, work on your feet for 8 to 10 hours a day, and have reliable transportation. No smoking or illegal drugs.

The successful candidate has a cheerful outlook with strong verbal communication skills. Written communication is also important as documenting patient treatment and client communication is part of exemplary medical care. Familiarity with veterinary record software is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Exceptional understanding of veterinary medical terminology and medical conditions is required
  • Candidates must have 3+ years of veterinary technician or assisting experience in a clinic/hospital environment
  • Strong preference given to candidates with 5+ years in a clinic/hospital environment and/or licensed technician credentials
