Our hospital in Newcastle is BRAND NEW, so you will be part of building the team, protocols, and establishing the relationships with clients and patients.

Our high standards requires all your skills that you have learned in the process of obtaining your LVT as well as on the job.

Your responsibilities as Licensed Veterinary Technician includes but are not limited to
proper and safe restraint of patients,
-vaccine preparation,
-checking in patients,
-obtaining weight, and history,
-processing lab work,
-treatment plan estimates,
-setting up cytologies,
-taking radiographs,
-maintaining inventory,
-general cleaning and maintenance of hospital,
-filling medications,
-basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of –accurate drug and fluid doses
-administer and monitor animals under anesthesia,
-assist in surgery
-perform dental procedures
-deliver compassionate nursing care.

Qualified candidates for the LVT position are required to:- have previous veterinary experience by working in a veterinary clinic / hospital for at least 1 year.
– be flexible in schedule to be available to cover all shifts in our general day practice on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
– have reliable transportation to be punctual for all shifts.
– able to lift up to 40# and stand for 10 hour shifts.
– have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
– be computer proficient
– be a non-smoker
– work well with our team
– be willing to learn
