Veterinary Technician: Full Time All Creatures Animal Hospital is a five doctor small animal practice seeking an LVT to join our team. Applicant must be honest, reliable and flexible. Successful candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication, be organized and proactive in anticipating the needs of the hospital. Our technical staff is used to the best of their abilities and encouraged in improving their skills and knowledge through continuing education. The person chosen will go beyond the rote performance of job requirements and become an integral part of our growing clinic.

Duties for the Veterinary Technician position include, but are not limited to:

  • Competence in placing IV catheters, phlebotomy, injections, radiographic positioning and technique (including dental radiographs), assessing patient vitals, restraint, dental prophylaxis
  • Experience with in-house laboratory testing, including demonstrable ability in evaluating blood smears and urinalysis
  • Monitoring patients under anesthesia, assisting in surgery
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, adequate computer skills and the ability to educate clients and advocate for necessary care required.
  • Other duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, attending staff meetings just to name a few.

The usual warnings include the requirement to be able to lift up to 40 pounds, work on your feet for 8 to 10 hours a day, and have reliable transportation. No smoking or illegal drugs. The successful candidate has a cheerful outlook with strong verbal communication skills. Written communication is also important as documenting patient treatment and client communication is part of exemplary medical care. Familiarity with veterinary record software is a plus. The hospital days of operation are Monday through Saturday and Saturdays are required. Pay will depend on experience and we offer a comprehensive benefit package. The Claim Specialist position reviews medical records, chart notes, lab results, invoices, estimates, etc. in order to make an accurate assessment on received claims.
