Seattle Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full time laboratory technician for our Pathology department at our Kirkland location. The ideal candidate is someone who can efficiently work in a prompt manner while paying attention to detail.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00am – 7:00pm with flexibility for occasional weekends.
Minimum two years’ experience as a medical laboratory technician or a licensed veterinary technician that has had experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Must be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently and have excellent communication skills.
Provide accurate and timely lab results to the veterinarians within all departments, while conducting a variety of tests for those departments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures to ensure accurate records.
- Perform all necessary functions of laboratory instrumentation including but not limited to: quality control, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and cross training of hospital staff.
- Assist doctors and technicians in sample collection.
- Run necessary lab requests in a timely and precise manner to include but not limited to:
- Clinical Chemistry (wet and dry)
- Fecal Analysis
- ELISA and AGID testing
- Provide client education and specific results via fax or phone
- Maintain accurate data entry, QC, billing and records.
