Districtwide in-service day: limited services Friday, October 17
Services for students and the general public will be limited on Friday October 17. There are no classes, and all services are closed with the following exceptions:
- Fort Steilacoom information desk, open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Fort Steilacoom computer labs (O301 and SN121 only), open 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Libraries at Fort Steilacoom and Puyallup, open 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Pierce College District annual districtwide in-service day provides Pierce staff and faculty with an opportunity to learn from one another. This year’s theme is “Effective Communication to Strengthen our Community.”

Colleges join forces to start new registered nursing program
Clover Park Technical College and Pierce College Puyallup are joining forces to create a new program that will begin to train as many as 30 new registered nurses per year in the South Sound next fall. [Read more]
Conference and lecture to feature best-selling author on men and education, relationships
Best-selling author Michael Gurian will be the keynote speaker at a one-day conference exploring the unique learning needs of boys and men at Pierce College Puyallup on Friday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Gurian will also speak at Pierce College Puyallup on Thursday, Oct 9, at 7 p.m. His topic for that presentation will be What Could He Be Thinking? Understanding the Nature of Boys and Men. [Read more]
