The public is invited to a free Pierce College celebration of International Education Week at both the Fort Steilacoom and Puyallup colleges with events including talks on the present and future of Iraq, managing anxiety in an age of international terrorism; a presentation on the Multicultural Leadership Institutes service learning projects in the Dominican Republic, along with an international quiz game, fashion show and dance lessons.

A special event designed to provide information for anyone considering a career in computer information systems (CIS) will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in the Sunrise Building at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.
Participants at the free public event will have an opportunity to see the colleges state-of-the-art facilities, meet the instructors and learn about training in high-tech programs. Workshops will include PowerPoint presentation; building a personal computer; and creating a DVD.

Mohrbacher, English instructor and member of the editorial board for SLAM (student literary arts magazine), cares about his students and helps them to succeed.
“The best thing is when a student says, ‘I hadn’t thought about that before,’” says Mohrbacher. “That means they are taking an idea and making it their own, opening new possibilities for them.”
You can take a number of his classes, including his favorites: Argumentation and Research and American Popular Culture. You can also catch Morhbacher playing guitar in his band, The disclaimers, to raise money for local charity organizations.
If you are lucky enough to get Mohrbacher as an instructor, be ready to bring your thinking skills and curiosity to his class every day.
