Oct.: Pierce College Fine Arts Gallery October Exhibit – Norman Lundin Paintings
University of Washington Professor Emeritus Norman Lundin has been represented by galleries in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York for decades. Lundin’s focus is in the void. “With this kid of priority I find that I must use objects that have little or no emotional association,” Lundin states. The works are on loan from the Francine Seders Gallery, Seattle. The Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Pierce College Fort Steilacoom is located at 9401 Farwest Drive, S.W., Lakewood. The Pierce College Fine Arts Gallery is located in the Olympic Building; Room 265.The exhibit is free and open to the public. October 8: Pierce College International Programs Presents the 15th Annual Korean Alphabet Day Celebration
Pierce College Fort Steilacoom will celebrate its 15th Annual Korean Alphabet Day event from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, October 8, on the third and fourth floors of the Cascade Building. The event is free and open to the public. Korean instructor Son Ok Kirst and her students organized the event which features a calligraphy and cultural display from 9 to 11:00 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Cascade Building followed by a reception and closing remarks beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the third floor Board Room. The Consul General of Korea, Chanho Kwon, the Education Consul of Korea, P.K. Youh, and Dr. Claudia Thomas, Mayor of Lakewood, will be in attendance for the celebration. Nov. 9, 10, 14, 15,16, 17: Pierce College Theatre Presents Such Stuff as Dreams are Made on
Pierce College Theatre performs Such Stuff as Dreams are Made on Nov. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. and noon in the Commons, Cascade Bldg., Fort Steilacoom and Nov. 14 at noon in the Commons, College Center Bldg., Puyallup. On The performance is a collage of Shakespearean scenes interlaced with Elizabethan music and dance. Tickets are $7 for general admission at $2 for students. The Pierce College Fort Steilacoom Concert Band and Fort Steilacoom and Puyallup Concert Choirs will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at Pacific Lutheran University’s Lagerquist Hall in Tacoma.
