Day Five of Winter Break
The sun is shining and campuses are quiet.
Have a great weekend!
The Urvasi Dancing Company from Olympia visited the Puyallup campus on Dec. 1 for a demonstration of Orissi dancing, a classical form of traditional Indian dance that originated in Orissa, a coastal area in eastern India.
Orissi has both rhythmic and storytelling dances that combine complex upper body and hand movements with pounding, stomping footwork.
The dancers explained the history and stories behind the dances, and shared a very exciting and unique culture.
