Raider’s Appreciation Day at Pierce

IMG_9098-1 IMG_9083-1 IMG_9109-1Cotton candy, snow-cones, a dunk tank and a four person Gravitron gyroscope ride were all found on campus Wednesday June 4, in celebration of Raider’s appreciation day.

Students were also able to receive a free American Apparel t-shirt in pink or blue that said “I am RAD” on the front and “Pierce College 2014” on the back.

Student government puts together a Raider’s appreciation day every year. This year it took them within a month for all of the committees to plan the event.

Lauren Gray, a Pierce College student and a member of the Student Government said, “We put this together to basically let everyone know to take it easy, since finals are coming up.”

“I like that they do fun stuff like this, it breaks up the monotony of going to school,” said Pierce College student Selina Graydon.

There was a raffle booth set up giving away various gift card prizes to Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

“I feel appreciated. I got free drinks and cotton candy. I did two push-ups for four tickets to put into a raffle and I got free sunglasses,” said Pierce College student Mariah Foley.

Later that night students were also able to eat hotdogs and hamburgers at a barbeque on campus and watch Back to the Future, on the lawn outside of the cafeteria.
