Monday Sept 23rd is the big day, and we are excited to see students again! We have worked hard over the summer to prepare excellent programming to support you in your education. Check out the newsletter link in late Sept. to see what we have in store.
We graduated a large cohort this June, and so we are looking for about 60 new students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university right away after graduating from Pierce to benefit from TRiO services. Send your friends to the back of the Welcome Center so we can determine if they are eligible!
Don’t forget to attend our year end event! See the 1st page of the Spring 2013 Newsletter for more information!
Tomorrow is the big day, and we are excited to see students again. We have worked hard over the summer to prepare excellent programming to support you in your education. Check out the newsletter link to see what we have in store.
We graduated a large cohort this June, and so we are looking for about 40 new students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university right away after graduating from Pierce to benefit from TRiO services. Send your friends to the back of the Welcome Center so we can determine if they are eligible!
Hopefully by now you have registered for classes. The system will be offline tonight through noon on Tuesday, and then former and new students will be registering.
TRiO’s Academic Recognition Ceremony will be June 2nd. Graduates can pick up your free cap and gown in the bookstore now. We look forward to seeing you there!
It’s almost here! We are looking forward to spring and the opportunity for starting over. For some people, that may mean recommitting themselves to their academics. For others, it could mean their first quarter at Pierce. If you see someone new to campus, or if you have a friend or acquaintance who may be eligible for TRiO, please send them our way! Now more than ever, students cannot afford to wander aimlessly through college without guidance. Because of looming cuts and overenrollment, any hestitancy can mean you don’t get the classes you need, miss deadlines for aid, and generally extend the amount you pay and time to graduation. Please check with TRiO at the beginning of spring quarter to see if we can help.
The weather has upended our normal routines today and tomorrow. Likewise, technical difficulties have hindered students trying to register for classes. If you are a current TRiO student who is not enrolled for spring, please come to the TRiO office in the Welcome Center on Monday. Classes will quickly disappear next week.
We are off and running in 2011. Next week is mandatory orientation for TRiO students at the Winter Welcome. We will meet from 12:30-2pm in HEC 302. Lunch will be provided. Please call 253.912.3644 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have class or work at this time.
TRiO has been crazy busy so far this fall. We had a wonderful reception to celebrate the funding of our new grant proposal with faculty and staff. We offered a very successful scholarship essay-writing workshop. This week was packed: a campus visit to PLU Monday, and today our Fall Welcome. This orientation broke all previous records with almost 50% of the TRiO students attending! We have a lot more activities planned for fall, so come check us out in the Welcome Center!
Pierce College Fort Steilacoom’s TRiO program was notified on Friday that we will continue to be funded! We are so excited to gear up for fall and have renewed energy now that the stress of waiting and wondering has been lifted. Now we will devote our time to finding excellent students in developmental levels of math for our math review course, and to filling up our Math 60/College 107 learning community! Contact 253.912.3644 for more information.
Yesterday was the first day of summer, and TRiO Staff are on campus Monday through Thursday. Stop by to see us!
